The mount rattles when in the fully opened position. I have to click it one level closed, and it solves this problem.
We actually attached the adhesive disc to the side of the fridge, and are now able to use this as a holder for the phone while we're in the kitchen. It's a great way to keep an eye on your recipes. One of my two major complaints with the mount is that the foam pads that hold the phone are very quickly deteriorating. They definitely won't last long.
Okay, so if you don't know how to use this product properly, you probably shouldn't have bought it (I'm talking about the other reviews). The package comes with the windshield mount (suction cup), a vent mount (clips), and a dash mount (sticky pad). I was concerned about this, as I didn't want to risk my new phone in something that wouldn't hold it right. But after trying it out, I'm very pleased with how snugly the mount grips the phone. I tried the "vent" but felt a little weak. Once mounted the phone is adjustable, and easily removable. Other than that, great product I use this case with my EVO. I have it clipped to my vent and I have not had a problem with it yet.
I find myself having to push it back down on a fairly regular basis. I'm guessing in the near future I'll have to do away with the mounting pad completely and look into just using the suction cup to mount it to my windshield or some other mounting option. I wanted something that would hold my Droid, which has the hard case around it. This works great. I purchased this product for my Droid X to use the GPS on a trip to Chicago from Des Moines, Iowa. It held perfectly throughout the 8 hour drive, worked with the charger and the headphone jack, and cooled with the air conditioning. I'd recommend it to anyone that wants to have their phone used as a GPS in the car (mine is a Droid X, it works perfectly!) I purchased this for the vent mount and it gets the job done. The clips that affix it to the vent could be designed a little better and I am going to try the suggestion of plastic tubing on the end of the clips to give it more grab.
This works well for the iPhone 4 in my BMW e46 vent. It's easy to install. Spend your money elsewhere...maybe with a company that will stand by their products. This mount worked well for my phone, but it broke after about a week of use.
I'm glad the vent clip isn't the only piece in this because it's totally useless. Any phone that has any weight to it (I have a big Droid 2) is going to pull the vent down, and it's also going to pull the adjustment arm on the mount down as well.
It's too bad, because that would be the perfect place for it, wanted a mount that could handle any phone without the need to remove the case. It came with both a Windshield and Vent mount.
