Extremely Powerful - Underwater Digital Camera Review

By Christian Adams

Pictures got deleted either when the camera ran out of batteries or when the battery got taken out.

Consequently, it is clear to me that this camera does not support what it advertises. My suggestion to Olympus is fix the seal problems for this camera or stop advertising that it can take pictures under water.

It is by far one of the best little point and clicks that I have had and I have had at least 5 in the past 5 years. It's built well and has an exceptional battery life (275 picks per charge on average with 14 MP pictures) and the recharge is fairly quick. My vacation was altered by the fact that the camera didn't do what it said it could do and I will never be able to capture some of the memories I lost due to a defective product. As it stands now, Olympus has lost my patronage for any of their products in the future. Manual or computer panoramic mode is better. If someone is interested, I could send some pictures (outdoor or underwater).

The memory was so cheap that it wasn't worth trying to return it. The bundle gets four stars while the camera gets five.

I have played around with it a bit and have realized the difference between some of the most common settings. I am thankful for the pet feature (though I use sport more often for this as I have a kitten) and firework setting. I don't want to connect it to a PC so leave me alone. Just take the pictures like you are supposed to. Also the pictures always seemed to turn out blurry; I'd have to take several pictures of the same frame to get a good one. I tried every setting and always ended up with the same result.

The camera is slow and I expected that from other reviews, I can deal with that. The issue is the poor focus, sound and mid light conditions.

I give this camera 5 STARS and a big thumbs up! It also seems the time between shots takes longer. It's still working. I have to say, I've been through my fair share of digital cameras, all of which have gotten wet, dropped, knocked off tables and into pools and toilets and sinks, run over, eaten by dogs or just looked at the wrong way by my kids!

Purchased this camera thinking it would be great for taking underwater photos. I used it 2 times and had to send it in for repair. I'm still playing with it and learning all the options but I highly recommend the camera. It does all that it says it does; it is compact and burly. My girlfriend and I took a month long vacation in Nicaragua. We both bought stylus tough series cameras.
