Incredible - Wireless Headphones Review Review

By Alexander Washington

It was a very good purchase for me as I am pleased with this product. I have recently moved into a new home with my wife, daughter and son-in-law.

They are just Ni-Cad AAA batteries so you should just be able to replace them with standard, inexpensive rechargeable AAAs when they eventually die. Build quality is excellent.

The sound quality is on a par with the best of my other phones, but the comfort and convenience of wireless puts these in a league of their own. My only caution is for those who are looking for phones that will drown out the sound of a lawn mower or nagging spouse. Range is rather limited, but I was going to use them indoors mostly anyways, so it is not a big deal. Control keys on the headphone are not really well designed as many reviews pointed out, but I can live with it.

I get perfect reception in 97 percent of my two story house and most of the back yard. They make house work a LOT less boring.

I couldn't be happier with these headphones. Zero background noise.

Everything is well designed and well-constructed. It all feels very solid. Playing video games for example, the menus were soft and subtle, and the actual game music explodes with vivacity. It's easy to strain your ears by underestimating how neutral they can be. I was excited about this alone, but I also learned that the volume controls are flat and therefore will not accidentally change as per my first point made above. Here's what I found about the 180's after one day of use. It's difficult to feel them at times. I often turn the unit off while trying to adjust the volume down. There is no static. I wear them for several hours a day and they're quite comfortable. Since it cannot process the lossless codecs via bit stream, everything was fed to it as PCM. This caused the receiver to automatically apply its own processing (aptly named Headphone 2CH).

The sound quality of the 180 is only marginally better than the 120 and the positioning of the controls makes it more difficult to use. If you buy additional headsets you will need to sync them to the base before they'll function. For our installation, at least, it was an annoyance to have the charger integrated with the transmitter. The transmitter has to be physically tied to the TV sound source with a cable, which limits your choices for where to plug in the charging station. I have only two issues with this headset. The range of operation is not what I thought it should be.
