By Casper Vivianodeni

Many people think that the mobile gadgets that are very common nowadays will replace the home PC. The average consumer has hundreds of choices on what laptop, cellular phone or tablet to buy. Mobile gadgets have become essential to the lifestyle of many people in developed and developing countries alike. These devices may have their perks like being able to access the internet from anywhere and bring able to take pictures, but there are some things that only a desktop pc can provide. Here are some of the functions of the desktop computers that still make the pc a vital home or office companion.

They can be very affordable

Laptops come in many prices depending on the model, brand and specs but the pc are generally more affordable than laptops that are of equal specs. Netbooks have too little memory while laptops are too pricey.

PC's generally have higher memories

Many of the high end laptops are catching up but the desktop computers generally still have higher memory compared to their mobile counter parts. Having high memory is one of the PC's main quality. There are professionals that require a high memory for them to be effective in their field. Videos, software, and games are some of the types of data that are too big for most laptops.

Parts can be upgraded one at a time

With the desktop pc, you can easily upgrade its parts depending on your needs and preferences. Some like to have two screens, while others like to use ergonomic mouse or keyboard for long periods of usage. This cannot be done with a laptop. If you prefer using an ergonomic keyboard you can simply replace your old keyboard. Sure you can do this with a laptop too, but you will have two keyboards in front of the screen.

Repairs are easier with replaceable parts

If any part of the desktop computer is damaged or is malfunctioning, you can easily detach that part and replace it. You can use parts from second hand computers or just replace it with a newer hardware. If you don't have much money to spare, you can buy parts or the whole unit from these shops that have second hand computers.
